Maine Football improves to 3-2 after defeating No. 21 UAlbany

ALBANY, N.Y. (WABI) – The Maine Black Bears enter their bye week with a 3-2 record after their 34-20 win over the Albany Great Danes on Saturday.

Maine entered the second half trailing 14-10, but the Black Bears showed incredible resilience, outscoring Albany 24-6 the remainder of the game.

Maine’s Carter Peevy threw 20/24 for 193 yards and two touchdowns, both to Cooper Heisey.

The Black Bears’ offense was also boosted by an 83-yard, one-touchdown rushing performance from Jaharie Martin.

This offensive performance was complemented by Maine’s “Black Hole” defense.

Maine forced four turnovers and held the Great Dane offense to just 260 yards.

Saturday’s win gave Maine its first conference win of the season.

Their road trip continues on October 12th when they face the University of Delaware.
