Is Dollywood closed? When the park will reopen following Helene's departure from East TN

Remnants of Hurricane Helene are leaving East Tennessee and Dollywood is returning to its normal schedule, according to park spokesman Wes Ramey.

Dollywood opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 9 p.m. on September 28, allowing guests to enjoy the full Harvest Festival experience after the impact of Helene disrupted park operations in recent days.

Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa and Dollywood’s HeartSong Lodge & Resort will also remain open during regular hours.

According to the National Weather Service, the Pigeon Forge area is under a flood warning until midnight on September 28th. According to the National Park Service on September 27, parts of the Great Smoky National Park in East Tennessee received more than 9 inches of rain in the last few days.

Flooding of rivers, creeks, creeks and other low-lying and flood-prone locations remains a major concern, the NWS notes. Low water crossings will be inundated with water and may not be passable.

The popular Pigeon Forge theme had a delayed opening on September 27th and closed for a full day on September 26th due to rain and wind associated with Helene and a late summer storm system earlier this week.

What is Dollywood’s rain policy?

Dollywood guests are always entitled to rain checks or refunds if their theme park visit ends early due to weather, according to park policy. A rain check can be requested at any ticket office and is valid until the end of the season.

According to the NWS 7-day forecast, there is a 30% chance of rain Saturday and a 70% chance of rain Saturday night.

The Dollywood Summer Tide

Dollywood was flooded earlier this year. The park was brought to a standstill this summer when water rushed around Dollywood guests on July 28 after torrential downpours dumped more than 4.5 inches of rain on the Pigeon Forge area.

Photos and video footage showed floodwaters covering the park’s parking lots and even flowing inside some buildings.
