It will be just the fifth meeting ever between the two programs, all of which have been played since 2014. Last season’s game was probably the most notable meeting in the series’ short history, with the then-No. 11 Irish falling 33-20 on the road to the No. 25 Cardinals in a game that quarterback Sam Hartman single-handedly won was responsible for five turnovers (three interceptions and two fumbles). The loss was Notre Dame’s second loss of the season, eliminating it from College Football Playoff contention.
