IDF spokesman Avichay Adraee warned residents of Dahia in Beirut this morning to leave locations near “Hezbollah interests.”

In a post on X, Adraee pointed to a map of the suburb and warned people to stay away from certain buildings.

“You are close to Hezbollah’s interests and are obliged, for your safety and that of your loved ones, to immediately vacate the buildings and stay at least 500 meters away from them,” he said.

Hospitals in the southern suburbs of Lebanon’s capital Beirut are being evacuated as conflict escalates in the city.

Lebanon’s Health Ministry called in a statement on hospitals not affected by Israeli attacks to “stop receiving non-emergency cold cases” by the end of next week to free up capacity to receive patients from evacuated hospitals.

Sirens sound in Israel as projectiles fly from Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces said projectiles were fired from Lebanon into Israeli territory this morning and some of the projectiles were intercepted.

A surface-to-surface missile fired from Lebanese territory also landed in an open area in central Israel this morning, the IDF said. Details of the incident are currently being investigated.

Blinken: There is a path to diplomacy

Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said he was confident diplomacy could prevail and would continue to push for it, but added that Israel had the right to defend itself.

“The way it works is important,” Blinken said. “The decisions that all parties make in the coming days will determine which path this region takes, with profound consequences for its people now and potentially in the years to come.”

Blinken continued, saying diplomacy is the course the US government prefers.

“The path to diplomacy seems difficult to see at the moment, but it is there and necessary. We will continue to work intensively with all parties to urge them to take this course.”

Blinken said violence will only lead to more bloodshed and instability in the region, which will “cause ripples that will be felt around the world.”

America, Blinken said, will not shy away from defending itself against attacks on its interests.

“Anyone who uses this moment to target American personnel and American interests in the region, the United States will take all measures to defend our people,” he said.

Iran’s president calls Israeli attack in Beirut a ‘blatant war crime’

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called the Israeli attack on Hezbollah in Beirut an “indisputable and blatant war crime.”

Israel’s attack on Hezbollah amounts to “state terrorism” and is a sign that Israel poses the “greatest threat to regional and international peace and security,” Pezeshkian said in a statement.

“I express my condolences to the nation and government of Lebanon and extend my sympathies to the families of the proud martyrs of this incident,” Pezeshkian said. “I share the sadness of you, the dear and honorable people of the Lebanese resistance.”

Iran will prosecute the crime against Israel and stand with Lebanon, Pezeshkian said.
