One Communications’ Brava partners with LGC for the Guyana Open golf competition

40 players from the USA, Canada and the Caribbean are expected

ONE Communications, through its business development brand “Brava”, has partnered with the legendary Lusignan Golf Club (LGC) to host the 2024 edition of the Brava Guyana Open Golf Tournament, scheduled to take place on November 1st and 2nd

The company is pouring $4.5 million into hosting the premier event on the local golf calendar.
LGC President Anasha Ally expressed her club’s delight at One Communications’ long-standing support of golf in Guyana, saying: “I would like to say on behalf of the Lusignan Golf Club, its members, non-members and all players, that we are deeply committed to the Brava.” Guyana Open Golf Tournament 2024….. I know they have been associated with our Guyana Open for a long time and that is why we are pleased that Brava has come on board for this occasion.”

Noting that the competition is expected to create a buzz in the golf community among the top players, she added: “We are really looking forward to all of you taking part in our competition this year, so to sum it up “I’m really excited.” Thankful, our club is extremely grateful for this sponsorship.”
Hilton Wong, Brava’s general manager, said the company had recognized the benefits of its sustainable investments in recent years, telling those gathered: “Golf is obviously an important pillar for us in terms of the company’s goals.” We at Brava believe that a three-year investment is one of those worthwhile types

LGC club captain Ayube Subhan explained that this year’s medal tournament will have a men’s and a women’s multi-handicap category, played over two days and 36 holes.
“We have three flights that we will be taking part in – the Premier Flight will be the 0-9 handicap that they will be taking part in; then we have the handicap 10-18 and the final grouping will be from 19-28… on the day itself we have to start early due to the sheer numbers, so we have a full day of golf and that’s what “The Sunday” represents, said the club captain.

This tournament features 40 players from the United States, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, Barbados, Fiji and other regional countries, as well as a variety of local players
The deadline for participation is October 19th. Trophies, prizes and bragging rights are up for grabs.
