SEC blockbuster, Georgia at Alabama

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – On this edition of FFF: We have an SEC heavyweight matchup in Tuscaloosa, Celtic in Scotland is in full swing and Nice Guys Nola is not to be missed.

FOOTBALL

On Saturday I’ll be covering the Tulane-South Florida game. Kick-off is at 11 a.m

For most people, a morning kickoff is not desirable. But for me, I’m all in.

You know, the game ends in the afternoon, so I have plenty of time to get home and play college football’s evening game, and there’s a big event.

The Georgia Bulldogs visit the Alabama Crimson Tide. Get this, Bama is the underdog in this contest.

The Dawgs are a 1-point favorite over the Tide. The last time Alabama was an underdog was in 2007 at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

This year the LSU Tigers were the favorites. The Purple and Gold won that game and a national title.

So cancel that date, postpone your dinner plans, it’s time for big SEC football.

FÚTBOL

Celtic Football Club in Scotland is absolutely unstoppable as they begin their 2024-25 season.

The Glasgow club is undefeated in the Scottish Premier League (5-0). They have outscored their opponents 14-0. This also includes a 3-0 win against arch-rivals Rangers without conceding a goal.

In the Champions League they defeated Slovan Bratislava 5-1. The goals were scored by different players, so everyone joins in the celebration.

EAT

On the weekends, Nice Guys Nola on Earhart Blvd always has a line out the door. There is now a second location, Headquarters by NGN. It is located at the old location of the Little Gem Saloon.

I was there last Friday and enjoyed the atmosphere. The music was blaring, but not too loud. Multiple TVs to watch the big game.

But the food was the best part. I topped the fried catfish with Creole crawfish sauce and served it with sizzling potatoes, red beans, and rice.

Everything on the plate was divine. I would recommend everything. It’s just a shame, the price. Lunch is quite expensive at $32, but it was still delicious.
