The tournament will feature several of the country’s young athletics stars.

The Indian Open U23 Athletics Championships 2024 is scheduled to begin from September 28 to 30 at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna, Bihar. Athletes take part in the competition in the disciplines 100 m, 200 m, 400 m, 800 m, 1,500 m, 5,000 m, 10,000 m, 110 m hurdles/100 m hurdles, 400 m hurdles and 3,000 m steeplechase, including the athletics disciplines high jump , pole vault, long jump and triple jump Field events include shot put, discus throw, hammer throw and javelin throw.

Animesh Kujur, Manikanta Hoblidhar and Moumita Mondal are among the prominent names who will be competing in the Indian Open U23 Athletics Championships. Kujur, who has made waves in the Indian athletics scene, will be competing in both the 100m and 200m races at the tournament. He previously won the national title in the 200-meter run at the tournament.

National 100m record holder Hoblidhar will also be in action at the Open U23 tournament after establishing himself at the 62nd National Open Athletics Championships.

Meanwhile, Moumita Mondal, who was named the best female athlete in the last edition of the tournament, will be hoping to make an impact again this year in both the 100m hurdles and long jump. Some other promising athletes to watch out for are Laxmipriya Kisan, Bhartpreet Singh and Tanya Chaudhary.
