Everton player now has a wider range of transfer options – new club moves into the game

Beşiktaş is interested in Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin and could start preliminary talks with him in January.

According to Fotomaç, there is also the possibility that the two sides will agree on a loan agreement.

They say that while Beşiktaş have been looking for a striker for next season and have Domenico Berardi on their list, they have also become aware of Calvert-Lewin.

His contract with Everton expires next summer and an extension currently appears unlikely, so the 27-year-old can begin preliminary discussions with all interested parties from January 1st.

Juventus are believed to have already done so and Beşiktaş could join them as both seek a free transfer.

Calvert-Lewin is believed to be open to a move to Beşiktaş, but is also being watched by Arsenal, Newcastle United and Manchester United.

He wants to “prove himself in a team that is playing for the championship” and Beşiktaş believes they can offer him a good chance. They regularly fight for the Super Lig title and it is a “more comfortable league”.

Fotomaç then adds that if Beşiktaş management contacts Everton, a loan deal could be possible, but why that should be is not clear. That seems unlikely as such a deal would essentially see Everton release Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer early if he doesn’t sign a new contract.

Either way, Beşiktaş is in the race for the striker, whose expiring contract is now seen as an opportunity by more than one club outside the Premier League.
