League Pass Game of the Day: Timberwolves at Kings (10 ET)

Sacramento won two of three meetings against Minnesota last season.

Five things you need to know before two Western Conference contenders meet in NBA League Pass tonight:

1. DeRozan’s debut: DeMar DeRozan will make his Kings debut tonight in Sacramento after the team acquired him via a sign-and-trade from the Bulls this summer.

2. Clutch Kings: DeRozan, a six-time All-Star, posted 24.0 ppg, 4.3 rpg and 5.3 apg for Chicago last season and finished second to Steph Curry in voting for the Kia Clutch Player of the Year. A year earlier, Sacramento’s star guard De’Aaron Fox won the award.

3. Wolves Run It Back: Last spring, the Timberwolves won their first playoff series since 2004 and fell just three games short of reaching their first NBA Finals. Now they return with the same core – centered around Anthony Edwards – in the hope of winning a title.

4. Ant-Man enters 5th grade: At age 23, Anthony Edwards is entering his fifth season after posting a second consecutive All-Star campaign in which he averaged a career-high in points (25.9 points per game), field goal percentage ( 46.1) and assists (5.1 points per game).

5. Dillingham Watch: In addition to Edwards, the Wolves may have another top scorer in rookie Rob Dillingham, a 19-year-old guard from Kentucky who Minnesota acquired in exchange for the No. 8 overall pick in this year’s draft.
