Swanage gas leak: Three dead after ‘carbon monoxide leak’ in nursing home | Great Britain | News

Three people have died as a result of a suspected gas leak at a Dorset care home, while a 60-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of an accident in Swanage on Wednesday morning in what was described as a “serious incident”.

Local Conservative councilor Gary Suttle confirmed to LBC that three people died in the suspected carbon monoxide leak.

The paramedics and firefighters were joined by police and emergency services. Nursing home staff were seen hugging each other and crying, locals said.

A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service said they were called to an incident in Swanage at 5.20am on Wednesday and sent a hazard response team, ten double-crewed ambulances and “a significant number of additional resources”.

“Two patients were taken to Poole Hospital by ambulance,” they added.
