Raphinha scored a sensational hat-trick to help Barcelona to a liberating and impressive 4-1 victory over Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.

Barca had lost six games in a row against Bayern until tonight, but under the guidance of former Bayern coach Hansi Flick, they often saw off the German team with ruthless efficiency.

Raphinha’s first goal came just a minute after a substitution and was a sign of things to come. While Harry Kane equalized, ex-Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski soon restored the lead.

Two well-taken breakaway goals – set up by sensational assists from Marc Casado and Lamine Yamal – completed Raphinha’s hat-trick and meant the contest was over before the hour had elapsed.

Bayern have only got three points from three games and are in 23rd place in the Champions League table. Thanks to the win, Barcelona climbed to 10th place.
