‘This is war:’ Elon Musk angry at Center for Countering Hate’s plan to ‘kill Musk’s Twitter’

The Center for Countering Digital Hate, a left-wing pressure group linked to England’s Labor Party, is trying to “kill Musk’s Twitter” by allowing people to speak freely without being easily banned. “This is war,” Musk declared angrily in response. Musk promises to “go after” the organization and its donors.

The British left-wing pressure group Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), which is allied with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Labor Party and is a communication vehicle for Labour’s neoliberal think tank Labor Together, is trying to “kill Musk’s Twitter”. to internal documents obtained by journalists Paul Thacker and Matt Taibbi.

The CCDH documents published in The DisInformation Chronicle show that the foreign company is also trying to strengthen its ties with the Biden-Harris administration and with censorship-friendly Democrats like Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), who has introduced legislation to regulate online “Misinformation.”

The internal documents show that the first item on the CCDH’s monthly agenda from earlier this year was to “kill Musk’s Twitter” through an “advertising focus,” meaning harassing advertisers to get them to stop to pay for services on X to push the social media platform into the ground.

From there, the agenda aims to “make progress toward change in the US and support for STAR” – which means creating an “independent digital regulator” that could “impose consequences for harmful content” – and “meeting with “To agree on Klobuchar’s team.” ”

“STAR’s core concepts are similar to the Digital Services Act just introduced in Europe and the even stricter UK Online Safety Act, which tasks national media regulator Ofcom with setting fines for uncooperative platforms,” Thacker and Taibbi explain.

CCDH’s internal documents also reveal its stated aim to “trigger regulatory action in the EU and UK”. Notably, the foreign company had previously hired the firm Lot Sixteen to influence “misinformation” at congressional offices in Washington, DC

Thacker and Taibbi also noted that “CCDH also lays the foundation for broader regulatory changes toward platform censorship.”

One CCDH task order from earlier this year says “60 meetings on the Hill,” while another says “meeting with 16 congressional offices over the next two weeks to update on the Elon lawsuit,” and refers referring to Musk’s now-dismissed lawsuit against the CCDH, which accuses the foreign company of manipulating data to justify the spread of hate speech on X.

“This is war,” Musk declared in a post on Tuesday

Notably, the CCDH’s founder is British politician Morgan McSweeney, who is now advising Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign.

Musk followed up his initial reaction by claiming that the British organization’s actions amounted to “foreign election interference.” The billionaire Trump supporter added: “We are targeting CCDH and their donors. AND their donors.”
