How to do the BO6 New Zealand trick

The New Zealand trick for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 should work on PlayStation and Xbox. On PC you can only try it if you play through the Microsoft Store – Steam or Battle.net versions don’t work.

Although there have been no reported bans for exploiting the New Zealand trick in the past, do so at your own risk.

There is also no guarantee that the methods listed below will work. Your mileage may vary.

PlayStation Black Ops 6 New Zealand Trick

On PlayStation, you don’t need to set your time zone or region on the console itself for the BO6 NZ trick to work. Instead, you’ll need to change the region in your Activision account linked to your PlayStation console and see if that works. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Log in to your Activision account on the official Activision website. If you don’t have your PlayStation account connected to Activision, click the PlayStation logo on the Activision login page.
  2. Tap the blue “PROFILE” button in the top right to open your profile page.
  3. Select the “Basic Information” tab on the left.
  4. Click “Edit” next to your address.
  5. Add a New Zealand address and change your location to New Zealand using the drop-down menu.
  6. Click “Save.”

If successful, you should be able to play Black Ops 6 as soon as it releases in New Zealand. However, this is an unproven method, so there is a possibility that this is not the case.

Xbox Black Ops 6 New Zealand Trick

The Xbox New Zealand trick is similar to the PlayStation trick in that you need to set your Activision account’s region to New Zealand, but there is an additional additional step. In previous game releases, players have had success using this method, but again, your mileage may vary, especially if you’re a Game Pass player.

  1. Log in to your Activision account on the official Activision website on your PC/mobile device. If you don’t have your Xbox account connected to Activision, click the Xbox logo on the Activision sign-in page and follow the instructions.
  2. Click the blue “PROFILE” button in the top right to open your profile page.
  3. Click the “Basic Information” tab on the left.
  4. Select “Edit” next to your address.
  5. Add a New Zealand address and change your location to New Zealand using the drop-down menu.
  6. Click “Save.”
  7. On your Xbox, navigate to the Settings menu using the left sidebar.
  8. Scroll down to “System” to open the system menu.
  9. Click on “Language and location”.
  10. Select “Location” and click New Zealand.
  11. Click Restart Now on the right to restart your Xbox console and save your changes.
