Murderous Kentucky mother gives up on pleading insanity and admits to shooting her young sons execution-style

A Kentucky mother rejected her insanity plea and admitted fatally shooting her two young sons in their Shepherdsville home.

Earlier this year, Tiffanie Lucas planned to plead insanity after her sons Maurice Baker Jr., 6, and Jayden Howard, 9, were found dead from gunshot wounds on Nov. 8, 2023.

However, on Wednesday, Lucas entered an open plea in the Bullitt County courtroom, meaning she admitted to killing her sons and will allow the judge to choose her sentence without input from the prosecution.

Outside the courthouse, the boys’ aunt, Bobbie Baker, pleaded with the judge to sentence Lucas “for who she really is and what she has done.” WLKY reported.

“I want her to wake up every day and not be able to leave the doors of this prison,” Baker said. according to WDRB. “That will hurt her more than anything else.”

Baker added that the killings were not an accident as “one of the boys was shot twice.” The family had contacted child protection services several times before the brutal incident.

Lucas will serve a 20-year-to-life sentence for each murder count, and the judge will decide whether the sentences will be served consecutively or concurrently.

She will be sentenced on November 22nd.
