Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Confirmed for Next Week; New trailer presents new location and new monsters

Next week there will be an open beta test for Monster Hunter Wilds on all platforms, including cross-platform play support.

During today’s showcase, it was confirmed that players on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series PlayStation Plus subscribers can access the open beta a few days early, from October 28th at 8:00 p.m. to October 30th at 7:59 p.m. PT. The beta test includes character creation to create characters that can be carried over into the final version of the game, a story test version that allows players to play through the first few sequences of the game, and a Doshaguma hunt in which the Players need to take part in an Alpha Doshaguma and also the opportunity to try out the multiplayer mode.

A new trailer was also shared during today’s Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase, introducing the Oilwell Basin location and the monsters Rompopolo and Ajarakan. You can watch the trailer and all of today’s presentation below.

Judging by the description of the content included, the Monster Hunter Wilds open beta will contain the same content as the Gamescom beta. If that’s the case, there’s danger for hunters, as it was a great showcase of some of the game’s new features and mechanics, as I highlighted in my preview.

Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on February 28, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
