Finally a win for Canisius – The Rink Live

Canisius ended its unfortunate streak of four consecutive defeats.

The long-awaited break came at home against Mercyhurst. The game ended 6:3.

The home team took the lead midway through the first period with a goal from Cody Schiavon. Matteo Giampa and Carter Patterson assisted.

Five goals were scored in the second period and the Golden Griffins led 4-2 early in the third period.

Trey Funk made it 5-2 with a goal midway through the third period, assisted by Oliver Tarr and Matteo Giampa.

Mickey Burns reduced the deficit to 5-3 with a goal eight minutes later, assisted by Trent Sambrook and Boris Skalos.

The Golden Griffins extended the lead to 6-3 after a goal by Jack Budd with 17 seconds left in the third period.
