“Time Cut’s Madison Bailey and Antonia Gentry on Being Included in a ‘Bucket List’ Movie”

Netflixs Waste of time is a throwback film in several ways. It’s a 2003 teen drama with cliques, school bullies and Avril Lavigne experimenting on CDs. It’s also a slasher film with a masked villain who targets teenagers, including Summer Field. And finally, Waste of time is a time travel story that takes Lucy Field back to 2003 – shortly before her sister was murdered.

For stars Antonia Gentry and Madison Bailey to sign up Waste of time “There was no question.” Both were interested in the diverse genres of Waste of timeand were ready to jump from their respective Netflix original series to a feature film. Speaking to CBR, Bailey discussed the transition of Outer Banks to appear in Waste of time. She and Gentry also joked about playing sisters despite not looking alike, and how Summer and Lucy have better instincts than most horror movie heroes.

CBR: What was it about? Waste of time That convinced you to take part? Were you both fans of slasher horror films and 2000s teen films?

Madison Bailey:
Yes. I feel like this is right up my alley, what I like to see.
I like the time travel aspect of 2003 the most.
It was just so much fun. It wasn’t a question. I thought, “I have to do this.”

Antonia Gentry:
My mother and I always watched old slashers from the 80s or 90s.
It was on my wish list to be in a horror film, especially a slasher.
I just thought, “Well, I have to.” It’s also my first film. I wanted to check off a few boxes, and [Time Cut] Checked off a few boxes.

You’re leading this film after starring in two of Netflix’s biggest series. Madison, how would you compare filming? Waste of time to what you experienced on the extremely popular website Outer Banks?

EXCLUSIVE: Outer Banks stars Madelyn Cline and Madison Bailey reflect on the hit series’ rise to fame on Netflix.

Bailey:
I think we both made this movie with one season each. I had just finished filming the second season [of Outer Banks]but it wasn’t out yet. It’s definitely different.
Naturally, [filming a movie] is a different tone, and it’s also our first film.
It is [my] directing a film for the first time, and [Antonia’s] Making a film for the first time.

Antonia, you said you wanted to make a slasher film and you had to do classic slasher chase sequences Waste of time. Which chase scene in the film did you like best?

Antonia Gentry, Madison Bailey and Griffin Gluck sit worried in a car at night in the Netflix series “Time Cut”.

Gentry:
There’s a scene where Summer is running through the barn and I’m knocking on the door.
There were a few times when I moved too fast. I actually booked it.
And they said, “No, no, no, no, no, you have to slow down because of the camera.” And I said, “Slow down? But I should be afraid. I don’t understand.” They said, “No, you’re crossing the frame too quickly. Please slow down.” I was really excited, but it was really fun. I enjoyed wandering around the barn and knocking things over.

At least these are your characters Waste of time have good instincts. Most people in horror movies don’t know what to do and just stand around.

Bailey:
Did we ever get to that point? [Laughs] Have we ever felt this way? As an adopted child, none of my siblings look like me. So it didn’t take that long [to pull it off].

Gentry:
Yes, my brother and I don’t look alike. We have our mother’s eyes, but that’s about it.

Bailey:
I don’t know.
When I met you, I immediately thought, “That’s my sister.”

Gentry:
It really clicked.
We had that chemistry, that made it easy.
It was super fun to pretend we were each other’s sisters.
