ELBERTON – The GBI has arrested and charged an 18-year-old South Carolina man in the fatal shooting at a homecoming afterparty.

The GBI has arrested and charged Jarquavious Demetriun Scott, 18, of Anderson, SC, with the murder of Bryshun Treviyus O’Brien Jordan, 15, of Hartwell, Hart County, Georgia.

Scott was booked into the Anderson County Jail. He is awaiting extradition to Georgia

At the request of the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office, GBI agents are assisting in the investigation of a shooting on Evergreen Drive in Elberton, Elbert County, Georgia.

On Saturday, October 12, 2024, at approximately 11:50 p.m., a shooting occurred at a homecoming afterparty that left one minor dead and seven others injured.
