Where to watch the 76ers vs. Bucks regular season opener

The first game of the 2024-2025 NBA season will take place for the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday evening. They will welcome the Milwaukee Bucks to the Wells Fargo Center for the first time this year.

Neither team will be at full strength on Wednesday. Earlier in the week, the Bucks anticipated the absence of Khris Middleton, who underwent surgery in the offseason. Without a preseason appearance, the Bucks ruled out Middleton for Wednesday’s game.

On the other hand, the Sixers will also be missing some key players, especially star center Joel Embiid.

Similar to Middleton, Embiid missed the entire Sixers preseason. With the team placing the big star on a strict health management plan, Embiid had no chance to prepare for a return to the court to begin his season on Wednesday night. The Sixers will hold off the one-time All-Star until he is fully ready to return and make his debut for a lengthy 2024-2025 NBA season.

As for veteran forward Paul George, he suffered a knee injury in last week’s preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks. Although George was fortunate to avoid a major setback, he was not cleared to play on Wednesday. Later this week, George will undergo another re-evaluation and could make his debut sooner than later.

The Sixers will have to rely heavily on former All-Star Tyrese Maxey to help them snap a four-game losing streak against the Bucks on Wednesday.

The Philadelphia 76ers will take the primetime stage on Wednesday night with their game against the Bucks broadcast on ESPN.
