World number 55 Emma Raducanu says she is making “good progress” in recovering from a foot injury despite skipping another tournament.

The 21-year-old Brit announced on Wednesday that she will not take part in the Hong Kong Open, which is scheduled to begin on October 28.

Raducanu has not played since she strained a ligament in her foot in the quarterfinals of the Korea Open against Daria Kasatkina on September 21.

The former US Open champion has now withdrawn from five tournaments in a row and has only played in two tournaments since July.

“While my foot is making good progress, I still need some time to get fit,” Raducanu wrote on X.

“I hope I can come back and play this tournament in the future.”

Raducanu wants to get fit again for the Billie Jean King Cup final, which takes place in Malaga from November 13th to 20th. Great Britain’s first game against Germany will take place on November 15th.
