Hanhart presents its first diving watch ever: the Aquasphere

Hanhart is breaking new ground with the launch of its first-ever diving watch collection, the Aquasphere. The debut model, the Aquasphere FreeFall Blue, reflects the brand’s ambition to expand beyond its renowned pilot and motorsport watches and compete with some of the best diving watches on the market. Inspired by the design language of Hanhart’s Primus Diver, this new 42mm model combines robust build quality with a sleek, modern aesthetic.

Built for the depths

The Aquasphere FreeFall Blue has been extensively tested by German freediving master Fabio Tunno, who took it on his dives to depths of 110 meters. Tunno’s field tests included diving at renowned locations such as the Blue Hole in Egypt, proving the watch’s durability and functionality in extreme conditions. The Aquasphere is waterproof to a depth of 300 meters, making it ideal for serious underwater adventures. It also features a helium valve at 10 o’clock to withstand pressure changes during decompression, a necessity for deep-sea divers.

Refined design

The construction of the watch remains true to Hanhart’s ethos. The case is made of brushed and polished stainless steel, while the distinctive fluted ceramic bezel can be rotated counterclockwise in 60 clicks to ensure safe diving operation. For better readability, the dial features Super-LumiNova C1 coated hands and markers, as well as a red-tipped second hand for easy time keeping. What is noteworthy is that the hour and minute hands have different shapes to avoid confusion underwater.

A sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating ensures the dial remains easy to read in both bright and dim light, while a crown guard adds a further layer of protection. The caseback is decorated with an embossed underwater motif, highlighting the watch’s aquatic inspiration.

Movement and performance

Inside the Aquasphere FreeFall Blue is the Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement, a working caliber with a power reserve of 38 hours. It has been finely regulated by Hanhart to ensure a precision rate of 0 to +8 seconds per day across all positions.

Comfort and individualization

Wearers can choose between a lightweight hookstrap textile strap for a sporty look or a stainless steel bracelet with a quick-release mechanism and diver extension for added versatility. This flexibility ensures that the watch is well suited for both recreational use and serious diving.
