Six players elect free agency

Six players elect free agency

As the offseason approaches, a number of players elect minor league free agency each week. These players are separate, six-year MLB free agents who will hit the open market five days after the conclusion of the World Series. Eligible minor league players can begin electing free agency as soon as the regular season ends. These players were all removed from a team’s 40-man roster during the year and have the service time and/or multiple career outrights required to reach free agency as they are not re-entered the roster of the teams were accepted.

Electing free agency is the expected outcome for these players. There will certainly be more to test the market in the coming weeks. We provide regular updates at MLBTR. These transactions are all reflected in the MiLB.com or MLB.com logs.
