Amateurs Zoe Campos and Ashley Menne are T3 and 4-under through the first 18 holes of the LPGA Q-Series qualifying phase at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Florida, putting them in a great position to advance to the final stages.

Campos is a senior at UCLA and a recent member of the United States Curtis Cup team, and Menne graduated from Arizona State last season.

Campos is currently ranked No. 7 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com women’s rankings.

Amari Avery, a USC standout who recently turned pro, shot a 3-under 69 in the first round and is T7.

The second phase of LPGA Tour qualifying consists of four rounds of stroke play, with a minimum of 30 players advancing to the final round. Each year many top amateurs try to earn their Tour cards, with successful qualifiers having to decide whether to remain amateurs or turn pro. As of 2022, an amateur who qualifies for the final stage MUST turn professional to compete.

LPGA Q-Series qualifying phase
