Bladen Middle School Football Jamboree Thursday –

The Bladen County Middle School Football Jamboree is scheduled for Thursday at the Tar Heel School.

The three Bladen County teams begin play with 10-play scrimmages at 5 p.m. Admission is $6. Concession is sold.

The participating teams are East Bladen, Bladenboro and Tar Heel. The East Bladen team features players from Clarkton School of Discovery and Elizabethtown Middle.

Regular season play is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 29th with Bladenboro at South Columbus and Tar Heel at West Columbus. East Bladen has a bye. South Columbus features players from Nakina, Tabor City and Williams Township.

The middle school volleyball season also begins Tuesday, Oct. 29, with Clarkton School of Discovery in Elizabethtown, Whiteville in Tar Heel and Bladenboro in Tabor City.

Football is played as a seven-team Waccamaw Conference. There are two conferences in volleyball. Waccamaw A has Tar Heel, Clarkton, Nakina, Tabor City and Williams Township. Waccamaw B has Bladenboro, Elizabethtown, Whiteville, East Columbus and West Columbus.
