Alvin Kamara and the New Orleans Saints have agreed to a two-year, $24.5 million contract extension. NFL Network reports.

The deal keeps Kamara under contract with the Saints through the 2026 season and prevents him from becoming a free agent next offseason. The report says it includes $22 million in guaranteed money and $1.5 million in incentives, which could increase the value to $26 million.

Kamara, 29, has played his entire eight-season NFL career with the Saints. He made the Pro Bowl after each of his first five seasons, but hasn’t since 2021.

In seven games this season, Kamara has 438 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 3.9 yards per carry, as well as 252 receiving yards and one touchdown on 34 receptions. He’s on pace to eclipse 1,600 yards passing during the regular season.

The Saints exploded on offense this season with 91 combined points in wins over the Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers in Weeks 1 and 2. Since then, New Orleans has lost five straight times and failed to score more than 13 points in three of those games.

The Saints will look to end their losing streak on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.
