The State Fair of Texas welcomed nearly 2.4 million people this season. What were the busiest days?

The State Fair of Texas welcomed nearly 2.4 million people during its 24-day run, increasing attendance compared to last year.

From September 30th to October 20th, people from all over the world traveled to the “Most Texan Place on Earth.”

In the fair’s 138th year, guests ate eye-catching and delicious food, took more than 100,000 rides on the iconic Texas Star Ferris wheel and won more than 400,000 prizes on the Midway, according to data released by the fair this week.

Some days were much busier at Dallas’ historic Fair Park than others, according to fair data released Tuesday, but attendance appeared to be consistent throughout the season.

This year’s total attendance – 2,385,855 people to be exact – was not record-breaking and fell short of the 2.5 million visitor mark set in 2022, and was likely affected by a shooting at the Tower Building and bad weather.

The busiest day at the fair was October 12, when the Cotton Bowl hosted the Texas-Oklahoma football game. Total 212,003 The participants were counted this Saturday. That was about 3,200 more people than on last year’s Texas-OU game day.

More than 144,000 fans attended the game at the historic Cotton Bowl Stadium.

The long-running annual Red River Rivalry game, usually played on the second Saturday of the fair, typically draws the event’s largest crowd. This year, SEC Nation filmed from 10 a.m. to noon at the Hall of State before the afternoon game.

Although the game has been played for more than a century, both teams had only joined the Southeastern Conference in July.

Other shows such as “Marty & McGee” and “The Paul Finebaum Show” were also filmed at the fair over the weekend.

On no other day did the number of viewers exceed 200,000.

The next busiest days of the season were the following Monday, October 14th, and Thursday, October 17th, with 143,103 and 139,472 visitors respectively.

More than 100,000 visitors came to twelve of the 24 days of the trade fair.

The weakest days, however, were at the beginning of the trade fair.

September 30, the first Monday of the event, was the weakest day of the season with 45,801 visitors.

Attendance remained low on Tuesday, October 1, and Wednesday, October 2, with 52,655 and 46,906 visitors, respectively. The only other day not to exceed 60,000 guests was Monday, October 7th.

The 2025 State Fair of Texas is scheduled for Friday, September 26th through Sunday, October 19th.
