A major breakthrough has been made in the August robbery of a Vero Beach bar and restaurant.

George Hart, the owner of Mulligan’s, said the impact of the August incident was profound.

“It was devastating. There has never been anything like this before. We are all in shock,” he said. “The suspect entered the restaurant and tied up an employee in the office while others were still inside. He locked the door and the guests knocked and tried to give the manager their money. The suspect threatened: ‘Don’t open the door or I’ll shoot you!'”

“We are all in shock,” says owner George Hart.

Upton is now facing charges including armed robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping and burglary.
