Bronny James NBA Debut: Betting Odds for LeBron and Son to Take the Court Together for the First Time – DraftKings (NASDAQ:DKNG), Flutter Entertainment (NYSE:FLUT)

There will be many storylines for the 2024 National Basketball Association season, including new faces in new places, the return of LeBron James for a 22^nd season and the arrival of James’ son Bronny James in the league.

NBA Opening Games: The 2024 NBA season begins on Tuesday, October 23rd with two matchups featuring four playoff teams from last season.

The New York Knicks vs. Boston Celtics airs at 7:30 p.m. ET on TNT and the Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Los Angeles Lakers airs at 10:00 p.m. ET on TNT.

The opening two games mark the start of TNT’s final season of coverage of the league with the parent company Warner Bros Discovery WBD With a new rights package starting next season, we lose out to others.

The Celtics won the NBA Championship last year, with the team being dominant from the start of the season to the end and looking to win the title multiple times throughout the season. In the 2024 NBA Playoffs, the Celtics only lost three games in four playoff series.

The Timberwolves were number three in the Western Conference and lost to the Dallas Mavericks in the conference finals. The Knicks were number two in the Eastern Conference and lost to the Indiana Pacers in the conference semifinals. The Lakers were the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference and lost to the Denver Nuggets in the first round.

According to betting odds from DraftKings Inc., the Celtics have a six-point lead against the Knicks and the Timberwolves have a lead against the Lakers on Tuesday night DKNG.

LeBron and Bronny James bets

One of the most important games is Bronny James’ debut in the NBA. In 2024, Bronny 55 was drafted^Th overall from the Lakers – the same team his father had played for for the previous six seasons.

Despite high odds, Bronny James is a popular betting option for the “Rookie of the Year” title. At DraftKings, Bronny James had a +25,000 chance of winning the prize, which would turn a $1 bet into a $250 profit.

At FanDuela unit of Flutter entertainment FLOODBronny has a +50,000 chance of winning rookie of the year.

In the NBA preseason, Bronny struggled in the first five games, scoring eight total points on 4-for-20 shooting, including 0-for-7 on three-point attempts. In the preseason finale, Bronny James had 17 points and shot 7-17 from the field.

As Benzinga previously reported, history is not on Bronny’s side. Only three second-round picks have ever won the Rookie of the Year award. Malcom Brogdon (36^Th (Overall selection) was the last to achieve this feat in 2017. The other two winners occurred in the 1960s.

LeBron averaged 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 8.3 assists last season, while career averages were 27.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 8.8 assists.

LeBron has a +15,000 chance to win the NBA MVP of the season, which would be his fifth win.

As of Tuesday, DraftKings lists the over/under for LeBron James at 24.5 points and there is no line for Bronny James points. There is a betting market on LeBron and Bronny’s combined points with 28 points or more combined at +13t5 and 30 points or more combined at +195.

FanDuel has several specific betting markets on Bronny, including the rookie whose first field goal will be assisted by his father at odds of +250, and Bronny’s first assist on a shot made by his father at odds of +200.

The betting platform also offers bets on the type of Bronny’s first basket, scoring 20 or more points in every NBA game, scoring a double-double in every NBA game, and other player characteristics.

NBA Championship Odds: The four teams that open Tuesday night are all favorites to win the 2025 NBA Championship heading into the 2024 season.

The Knicks are owned by publicly traded players Madison Square Garden Sports MSGS made a preseason trade to sign NBA superstar Karl-Anthony Towns, improving their chances of winning the championship.
