The Clippers legend gives his honest opinion about Bronny James playing for Lakers against Timberwolves

In just a few hours, LeBron and Bronny James will become the first father-son duo to ever play together on the same team. Many have wondered when the two will actually play on the court together for the first time, but one former Clippers player wants that to be tonight.

During an episode of FanDuel TV’s Run It Back show, Lou Williams floated the idea of LeBron and Bronny James playing against the Timberwolves on opening night. Williams believes tonight should be the night the Lakers pull the trigger, especially if there could be an injury in the future.

“Tonight is the night. You don’t want this thing to last that long,” Williams said. “Let’s say we play 20 games and he still has to play with LeBron, then you continue the media circus: ‘When is it going to happen?’ There are too many what ifs. What if LeBron James twists an ankle, what if he has something God knocks on wood and he goes out?”

In Williams’ eyes, opening night will be the opportunity to let LeBron and Bronny James play together, and that opportunity shouldn’t be taken away from them. It’s a moment that no one should criticize.

“Now you never get the opportunity to show that moment for the fans to see that and for the two guys to have that experience together,” Williams said. “Tonight will be the best opportunity for them to do that. I think they should criticize.”

The Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves are scheduled to open their seasons tonight at 10:00 p.m. EST.
