CHICAGO (WLS) – A man charged over a bar brawl that left another patron critically injured has been released on conditions he has not disclosed.

In court Tuesday, prosecutors said the shards of broken glass caused cuts to the victim’s face and injured his carotid artery, requiring surgery.

The public prosecutor’s office demanded that Sadeghi be imprisoned, but this was rejected. Sadeghi’s lawyers said he was a full-time student. He was released on the conditions that he have no director or indirect contact with the victim or witnesses, stay away from Butch McGuire’s and not enter bars.

Sadeghi is charged with one count of aggravated assault. He is due back in court on October 28.
