Is your C8 Corvette Z06 losing engine coolant? Here is the service bulletin to resolve the issue

The C8 Corvette Z06 heralded the return of a naturally aspirated V8 engine for track-oriented cars, and therefore requires a lot more radiator to keep the LT6 cool on even the hottest track days. Unfortunately, we just learned of a possible problem with the LT6’s cooling system as some owners are noticing signs of a coolant leak. The good news is that the solution could be as simple as realigning a hose clamp.

A new Technical Service Bulletin was issued earlier this month detailing how to identify an engine coolant leak at the bottom or front of the engine on some 2023-24 Corvette Z06s after the car has been parked for a while. The TSB states that the coolant leak most commonly occurs in the water pump area at the vent pipe (Fig. 6, #1) or the inlet hose (Fig. 6, #2):

If it is determined that the coolant leak is coming from the vent pipe area, check that the spring clip is correctly positioned and the hose is fully attached to the vent pipe nipple.

If the coolant leak is determined to be at the water pump inlet hose, feel the hose to make sure it is not coiled and that it is fully seated on the pipe.

Also check the position of the clamp. Make sure the hose clamp is not crooked and is positioned correctly. The clamp must be aligned perpendicular to the side edges of the hose surface. (Fig. 7) Tighten the hose clamp screw/screw with the correct torque.

If the hose needs to be repositioned, loosen the clamp to make adjustments and then retighten the clamp. There is no need to replace the clamp unless it is damaged.

For more details, see Bulletin No. 24-NA-177.

If you notice a coolant leak and are unable to self-diagnose whether this is the problem, we recommend that you schedule a service appointment with your Chevrolet dealer so they can examine and repair the problem.
