Applications are open for the Trojan Patriot Academy 2025

Troy University and American Village are accepting applications from rising juniors and seniors who want to learn more about leadership, civics and U.S. history at Trojan Patriot Academy this summer.

The camp will take place June 8-13, 2025 and will teach students leadership practices and ideals from the perspective of the Founding Fathers. Participants spend the first two days on Troy University’s beautiful campus in Troy, where they learn about leadership principles, followed by a trip to Montgomery to meet with state leaders, tour the Statehouse, and stop at the Rosa Parks Museum To inform civil rights. The camp concludes with a stay at the American Village in Montevallo, where students participate in a comprehensive educational experience and gain a first-hand look at the leadership principles that shaped the founding of America.

This unique experience allows students to connect with other young leaders from across the state and develop into citizens ready to make a positive difference.

“We are really looking forward to the Trojan Patriot Academy next summer,” said Dr. Jeff Scott, executive director of academic operations for the College of Education at TROY. “Our mission is to make this academy a premier experience for Alabama high school students to promote civic learning and leadership through the lens of American history.” Through this dynamic week-long experience on the Troy campus and the American Village site, students will develop their understanding of founding principles and personal leadership and a better understanding of how we can improve our society so that everyone feels connected.”

The camp accepts up to two students per Alabama high school and participants must have a nomination from their principal or superintendent. For more information or to apply, visit www.trojanpatriotacademy.com

“The Trojan Patriot Academy is an important part of the robust partnership between Troy University and American Village,” Scott said. “Our goal with this partnership, Experiencing America, is to provide students, educators, community members and our state with experiences that strengthen our American foundation upon which all citizens can build their lives.”
