Flying first class is overrated

Flying first class is overrated

At the weekend I was upgraded to first class a few minutes before boarding. The flight was maybe 30% full and it was a two hour domestic flight. I wasn’t sure what to expect since I’ve probably never sat in a row less than 12 on a flight in my life. So of course I was pretty excited to upgrade to seat 3F.

The flight was quick and the perks were pretty limited. The seat was nice and wide. For me, as a 1.90 m tall and 100 kg man, the wide seat and the extra legroom were definitely nice. An extra wide armrest is the rule. No crowding over the skinny ones in the coach. But I thought I would get a lot of cool things like a hot towel, warm chocolate chip cookies, and more.

To be honest, it was a bit disappointing. I was given an alcoholic drink which was free. And the flight attendant brought me a set of snacks that were branded snacks and different from the standard snacks you get on the bus. But that’s it! No hot towels, no warm chocolate chip cookies and nothing more! Just alcohol and a snack.

So I asked The Yak what the actual benefits were and why they like flying first class.

In my opinion it’s not worth it, but to each their own! Check out the full Yak here:
