Richard Earl Scheller, 74, Huntingburg

Richard Earl Scheller, 74, of Huntingburg, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Scenic Hills.

Richard was born October 14, 1950 in Evansville to Alvin and Mary Catherine (Martin) Scheller.

He married Catherine Marie Wildeman on July 19, 1975 at St. Philips Catholic Church.

Richard was a retired dairy farmer and truck driver. He was a member of the Young Dairymen’s Association, the Knights of St. John’s in St. Wendel, the Knights of Columbus in St. Anthony and Christ the King Parish at St. Ferdinand Church.

He loved fishing, Allis Chalmers tractors and woodworking. Richard enjoyed making wooden toys for his grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his wife, Catherine Marie; son, Michael (Catherine) Scheller of Pickerington, Ohio; two daughters, Elizabeth (Tim) Gunselman of Ferdinand and Rose (Christopher) Klem of St. Meinrad; six grandchildren, Alexander and Gabriel Scheller, Joseph and Matthew Gunselman, Cameron and Ava Klem; three brothers, Ralph (Irmtraud) Scheller, Clarence (Nancy) Scheller and Paul (Becky) Scheller, all from Haubstadt.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Mary Catherine Scheller and his stepmother Alice Ruth Scheller.

The funeral service will take place on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Ferdinand Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
