High-speed car chase in Oregon ends in dramatic arrest

ROSEBURG, Ore. – A suspected drug dealer with a history of violent crimes was involved in a high-speed chase with Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) investigators that ended in a dramatic arrest on the streets of Roseburg.

Glenn Gearhart was armed and dangerous

The arrest of Glenn Gearhart, 50, came after a tip and subsequent investigation by members of DINT.

They learned that Gearhart, who had recently moved to Oregon from Bell Gardens, California, was a dangerous and armed drug dealer who routinely sold large quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine in the Roseburg area.

His dramatic arrest happened last Friday (October 18) when investigators obtained a search warrant for his home in Page Road, Winchester. Investigators observed Gearhart leaving the apartment and getting into a new Jeep Cherokee.

DINT members called the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office for assistance because they believed the suspect was in possession of illegal firearms and large amounts of drugs. Gearhart, who spent most of his adult life in California prisons, was considered armed and dangerous.

A high-speed chase ensued, with Gearhart leading officers through the streets of the northern Roseburg area. At some point, Gearhart crashed his vehicle into a curb, but continued to attempt to escape until he struck the side of another vehicle.

Officers were then able to pin down the suspect’s vehicle from the rear and front, where Roseburg Police Department officers, multiple officers and DINT detectives took him into custody.

Search of a cache of firearms and a large sum of cash discovered in the vehicle

A search of his vehicle uncovered an AR-15, an illegal short-barreled shotgun, a pump-action shotgun, a toy pistol, and a Glock .40 caliber handgun with an extended magazine that had been stolen in Los Angeles, California . A large sum of cash was also seized.

DINT detectives then returned to the suspect’s home in Winchester, where they seized a significant drug haul – 734 grams (1.6 pounds) of suspected methamphetamine, 608 grams (1.3 pounds) of suspected fentanyl, 369 doses of Alprazolam, 51 Grams of cocaine and 12.5 grams of psilocybin (magic mushrooms).

Investigators arrested Hannah Fallert (34) in the apartment. She is being held in the Douglas County Jail on charges of unlawful possession and delivery of fentanyl and unlawful delivery of fentanyl within 1,000 feet of a school.

Gearhart is also in the Douglas County Jail and faces 10 charges, including reckless driving, illegal possession of a firearm and illegal possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl.

Police officers expect further arrests.
