Frictionless POS provider AiFi saw significant growth in the sports industry in 2024. The company told SBJ that it will have more than 74 stores in sports venues by the end of the year – a number that represents a 236% increase in AiFi stores since 2023. Steve Carlin, CEO of AiFi, could not provide a specific number to name new stores added this year, but said the “majority” were built this year.

“If you really look back 24, 36 months, you really see a lot of traction in the space between us and other players,” Carlin said. “There’s no doubt that this particular market…this particular part of the retail sector has just realized that this technology dramatically improves all of its metrics.”

Other venues using AiFi technology include the recently opened Intuit Dome, Footprint Center and Chase Center.
