Superstar rapper Drake has decided to celebrate his birthday by giving away free Dave’s Hot Chicken to customers who visit any location on October 24th. No purchase is necessary to take advantage of this promotion. Let’s take a look at the details.

Drake gives away Dave’s hot chicken

In a press release, it was announced that Drake, an international music icon and major investor in the fast food chain, will be giving away free Dave’s Hot Chicken sliders to everyone on October 24 in honor of his birthday, according to a statement.

Anyone who visits Dave’s in their neighborhood and scans the reward in the Dave’s Hot Chicken app will get the connection.

Every Dave’s Hot Chicken celebrates October 24th from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. local time. This event is open in person only; Online ordering or delivery by external providers is not possible.

“We love that Drake is celebrating his birthday with Dave’s guests,” Bill Phelps, CEO of Dave’s Hot Chicken, said in a statement accompanying the press release. “As this brand expands from coast to coast and abroad, it is the authenticity of the food, the founders, team members and investors like Drake that ensure we continue to blow people away.”

With folding tables and portable deep fryers in tow, three childhood friends — chef Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganesyan and Tommy Rubenyan — raised $900 to open Dave’s Hot Chicken in a parking lot in 2017, a modern American dream come true. With the support of Tommy’s brother Gary, Dave’s Hot Chicken quickly gained traction and soon opened a physical location in East Hollywood. In 2019, the team reached an agreement with Bill Phelps, former CEO and co-founder of Wetzel’s Pretzels, to begin franchising the Dave’s Hot Chicken idea. Drake, who was named Billboard’s Artist of the Decade, also invested in the company.

The company will open more than 80 stores this year after selling rights to over 1,000 franchise locations in the United States, the Middle East and Canada.

Not the only celebrity

Drake isn’t the only celebrity caught up in the Dave’s Hot Chicken trend. The grand opening of the expanding chain’s first location in Georgia took place this summer in Conyers, a suburb of Atlanta.

Entertainment icon Usher, who recently completed his highly successful residency in Las Vegas, has teamed up with Andrew Feghali and Lawrence Kourie, two of Dave’s Hot Chicken’s longest-serving franchisees, to open the restaurant.

Fans and anyone else seeking fantastic entertainment were treated to a feast of fried chicken and spices to celebrate the grand opening of the restaurant at 1447 Hwy 138 SE. Leading drone show specialist SkyElements helped celebrate the grand opening of Dave’s Georgia on Thursday, August 29th at approximately 9pm with an amazing drone show that conveyed the company’s history in a comprehensive and engaging manner.

Usher’s endorsement of the brand can only have a big impact for the growing fast food chain.

“When I tried Dave’s Hot Chicken and spoke to the brand’s founders, I knew I wanted to join the company. “I’m excited to open Atlanta’s first Dave’s Hot Chicken and look forward to everyone from my hometown trying it,” Usher said in a statement to RetailWire.

“Dave’s Hot Chicken continues to grow in popularity from coast to coast, from our passionate guests to international superstars,” said company CEO Bill Phelps. “Our focus remains on making the tastiest, spiciest and juiciest hot chicken in the world and we are thrilled to partner with Usher to bring Dave’s to Georgia.”

Drake, who was named Billboard’s Artist of the Decade, has long been a significant investor in the company, although this is Usher’s first investment.
