iPhone SE 2025: Apple’s Galaxy S24 FE killer is said to use Samsung’s OLED display

Apple’s next budget iPhone is expected to use an OLED screen manufactured by Samsung. The company was added to the display supply chain alongside BOE and LG Display. The iPhone SE 4 (2025) has been in the rumor mill in recent months.

The upcoming iPhone SE could compete with Samsung’s Galaxy S24 FE in the US. Mark Gurman previously reported that the 2025 iPhone SE will come with Apple Intelligence features to differentiate itself from the competition.

Last month, Apple announced the iPhone 16 series. Now the company is preparing to unveil its next-generation budget iPhone. If the rumors are true, it will be called the 4th generation iPhone SE and is expected to launch in early 2025.

It’s worth noting that it will be the first SE-branded iPhone to use OLED screens. Previous budget iPhone models used LCD panels. Apple has reportedly enlisted Samsung, LG and BOE for smoother delivery and pricing negotiations.

It has been observed that Apple has reduced its dependence on Samsung D for the supply of the iPhone 16. The company missed the supply chain for the iPhone SE OLED. However, the inclusion of the iPhone SE 4 in the supply chain appears to be a compensatory measure.

This year, LG Display delivered more OLED panels for the ‌iPhone 16 Pro‌ and ‌iPhone 16 Pro Max‌ than last year, reducing Samsung’s share. LG could deliver up to 20 million more panels for the iPhone 16 series compared to last year.

BOE is currently supplying OLED panels for the standard iPhone 16 model. The Chinese display provider will have the lion’s share of the next iPhone SE. Meanwhile, the number of display panels to be delivered for the iPhone SE is still unknown.
