Stay tuned for warm, dry weather this week

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Montgomery Regional Airport’s streak of dry days without measurable precipitation is now 17 and counting as of Monday. This trend will continue today and through most of this week as a stubborn area of high pressure hovers over the Southeast that will keep us dry for several more days.

Temperatures outside this morning will be in the 40s to 50s. The crisp and clear start to the day will give way to a warm, sunny and dry afternoon. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s, with east winds around 5 to 10 mph. Lows will fall back into the 50s overnight under clear skies and light winds.

The positive aspect of the dry weather is that it allows for some pretty nice outdoor plans. Afternoon temperatures will rise slightly each day this week, reaching the mid-80s by mid to late week, with morning temperatures dropping into the 50s overnight.

Check out the latest live and local weather below, available to stream on WSFA Weather Now! Please note that this stream does not contain live severe weather coverage, only data on the latest weather conditions.

It is expected to remain dry this weekend. A weak front will run through the region. Although there will be no rain in the area, temperatures will cool slightly by Sunday into early next week.

Expect highs in the mid to upper 80s with sunny weather on Saturday, moving to the upper 70s to lower 80s on Sunday, more typical for this time of year. Overnight lows will also slowly fall back into the lower 50s by the end of the weekend.

On the trail of the tropics: Nadine is no more and Oscar will soon move to an extratropical low pressure area over the open Atlantic.

We will not observe any other systems over the next seven days, but there is a computer model signal for the possibility of development in the Caribbean Sea around the first of November. We’ll watch.
