CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Public Library System Main Branch recently held a bake sale sponsored by the Friends of the Cullman County Public Libraries. CCPLS Assistant Director Shelby Creekmore said the $180 raised will go toward the library’s construction fund.

“The Bouldin family (Rebecca Bouldin is a member of the Friends) organized the event, but several families attended,” Creekmore said. “They offered goods such as muffins, cookies, candy bags and cakes that the children had baked. We are currently in the first phase of planning our future library building, so we are gathering data and fundraising for much-needed renovations and expansions.”

Creekmore said the best way for the community to get involved during this phase is to come to the community meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 22, between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. at Cullman City Hall. Residents can contribute to what the future library should look like and offer.

“As far as donations go, we now have a GiveButter campaign that will be made available to the public for the first time at Tuesday’s meeting and posted on our social media and website,” Creekmore said. “We are very grateful that the community is supporting the library as we transition to new things for the future.”

For more information or to donate, visit the library at 200 Clark St. NE or call 256-734-2720.
