“I never thought I would see the day”

“I never thought I would see the day”

Imagine plugging in your phone to charge and realizing that someone has cut your cord with scissors. Kind of surprising, right? Probably a little frustrating too.

This feeling was even worse for a TikToker (@e3_electrics) who found two electric vehicle chargers on the side of the road with their charging cables cut.

@e3_electrics How much do you think you would even make by scrapping electric vehicle charger cables? #industrial electrician #electric vehicle #car charger #uk electrician #electrician apprentice #scrap ♬ Original sound – E3_Electrics

“I never thought I would see the day,” the driver said in the video. “…Whoever does this isn’t doing it.”

Destroyed chargers have become a sad reality for electric vehicle drivers who just need a place to refuel and get to their destination. Across the country, cables have been tampered with, removed from chargers and cut into pieces, rendering them unusable.

Some vandals may have a negative association with electric vehicles, while others may just be after the copper in the wires and want to sell it as scrap metal.

Either way, there’s no reason to ruin anyone’s day. A destroyed charger can leave a person stranded on the side of the road, especially when driving in more remote locations. It’s like stopping at the only gas station for miles and realizing that every single pump is out of service.

All in all, EV vandals would probably enjoy the benefits of electric propulsion if they gave it a chance. Never having to pay for gas again saves a lot of money over time and has fewer maintenance issues than with vehicles that run on gasoline.

Plus, unlike these gas guzzlers, electric vehicles don’t emit any exhaust fumes, making them a smart choice for your wallet and the safety of the planet – not to mention the time you can save by not constantly unplugging chargers.

“They did this near me months ago,” one commenter shared.
