“Cardinals take responsibility for ‘Monday Night Football’ win”

THE STORY: In a game that was all about trading blows, the Cardinals finished last.

Kicker Chad Ryland hit a 32-yard field goal on the final play of the game and the Cardinals defeated the Chargers 17-15 on Monday Night Football at State Farm Stadium.

The Chargers (3-3) took control of the ball at their own 2-line with more than 10 minutes to play and steadily pushed down the field until Cameron Dicket hit his fifth field goal of the game from 40 yards for a 15-14 lead.

Kyler Murray, whose electrifying 44-yard touchdown run gave the Cardinals (3-4) the lead, then led the game-winning drive thanks in large part to a 33-yard catch-and-run from running back James Conner.

Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert completed his first 300-yard passing game of the season, but failed to get Los Angeles into the end zone due to a fabulous performance by the Cardinals defense. The Cardinals gave up just 59 rushing yards.

Murray, who threw an interception on his first possession, finished 14 of 26 for 145 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Conner rushed for 101 yards.
