The 69 Express Project announces the scheduled opening of the 119th Street connecting ramps

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (KCTV) – The reopening of 119th Street and the interchanges with 69 Highway is on track, according to a spokesperson for the 69 Express project.

Eastbound and westbound 119th Street and the connecting ramps to US 69 Highway will reopen at 6 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, the Kansas Department of Transportation announced Monday evening.

With the reopening, access to the Highland Plaza shopping center will also be restored. Business owners in the area spoke to KCTV in August about concerns about the closure and its impact on businesses in the area.

During the closure, improvements were made to 119th Street, including the removal and reconstruction of the 119th Street bridge, a reconstruction of the street itself, and the connecting ramps to the highway.

The 69 Express project will continue to result in lane closures throughout the remainder of the year.
