Premier League LIVE: Nottingham Forest vs Crystal Palace – live text and score updates

Dean Henderson’s mistake inflicted more pain on winless Crystal Palace as Chris Wood secured victory for Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

The Palace goalkeeper allowed Wood’s second-half shot to go under his arm in full view of interim England coach Lee Carsley.

Oliver Glasner’s Eagles remain in the bottom three of the Premier League, while Forest move up to eighth after their first home win of the season.

Eberechi Eze and Eddie Nketiah hit the woodwork for Palace, while Ryan Yates also nodded off the post for the hosts.

Palace enjoyed the better opening and Eze went close before Nketiah’s fine 30-yard drive hit the post, but after a slow start Forest woke up and Elliott Anderson’s excellent run and shot forced Henderson into action.

Wood headed over goal before Jefferson Lerma denied him off the line as Forest continued to create chances and Yates’ header hit the post again after 22 minutes.

Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo, watching from the stands as he began a three-game ban on the touchline, would have been encouraged but Palace regrouped and Matz Sels redirected Eze’s shot onto the crossbar after the break.

But Wood struck with 25 minutes left when he took advantage of Trevoh Chalobah’s free-kick and his first-time shot from 20 yards crawled under Henderson’s arm.

Sels then made another great save to ensure Forest took all three points, this time against Jeffrey Schlupp with ten minutes left.
