Bout Damn Time A secures Bunny Lake finals

About damn time A (Art major) secured the biggest win of her young harness racing career Monday afternoon at the Saratoga Casino Hotel when Amanda Kelley’s trainee prevailed in the $29,800 Bunny Lake Pacing Series finale.

Bout Damn Time A had a win and a second place in the first two legs of the series before having to sit out leg three to prepare for Monday’s final.

Wally Hennessey has been the pilot of Bout Damn Time A in each of her local starts and it was no different in the finale as the Hall of Fame boss sat patiently with the race’s 3-5 betting favorite in the early stages.

Bout Damn Time A, a five-year-old mare who has shown early speed at times but has improved as a closer in her short time at Saratoga, started from the rail and had about three-eighths of a mile left before she accepted and eventually caught the leader on the track before stopping the timer for a score of 1:55.

Bout Damn Time A’s biggest career win was her eighth win in fourteen lifetime starts for owners VIP Internet Stable LLC and S&K Misfit Racing LLC. 53-1 longshot Shutupanddrive (Aaron Byron) finished from last place to finish second in the final, while Mystic Bell (Shawn Gray) secured the show spot in the fourth annual edition of the series, named 2001 National Horse of the Year. Bunny Lake is a harness racing Hall of Famer who started at Saratoga under the direction of trainer John Stark Jr.

It fucking takes a repeat

Bout Damn Time A was one of five winners piloted by Wally Hennessey in Monday’s matinee.

The live racing calendar adds Tuesdays starting tomorrow (October 22), with a matinee starting at 12pm.
