No charges will be filed in the deadly double shooting in East Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police announced Monday that they will not file charges in connection with a deadly double shooting from the day before.

Officers were originally called to the 3700 block of North Davidson Street just after 8:25 p.m. on Sunday, October 20th. When they arrived, they discovered that 23-year-old Joseph McAfee had been killed.

According to Medic, another person was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said that after interviewing everyone involved, no charges would be filed. Next, the department’s homicide unit will present the case to the district attorney, who will review the case to ensure that the homicide unit is correctly applying applicable laws.
