The Museum’s October Classic: An Iconic Thriller

Join us on October 25th at 7 p.m. for an exciting movie night at the Hancock Historical Museum as we present Alfred Hitchcock’s classic thriller “Strangers on a Train” (1951). Starring Robert Walker and Farley Granger, this iconic film promises to keep you on the edge of your seat!

Based on Patricia Highsmith’s captivating novel, Strangers on a Train follows tennis star Guy Haines (Farley Granger), who is frustrated by his wife’s unwillingness to finalize a divorce so he can marry the senator’s daughter, Anne (Ruth Roman). , can get married. During a chance encounter, he meets the enigmatic Bruno Anthony (Robert Walker), who suggests a disturbing idea: swap murders to solve their problems. What begins as a casual conversation turns into a frightening series of events that make Guy the prime suspect in a shocking crime. The film was nominated for Best Cinematography at the 1952 Academy Awards and demonstrated its remarkable visual storytelling ability.
