Above average temperatures this week as the slow warming trend continues

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – We’re slowly warming up this week as highs are slightly above normal.

We will reach the upper 70s and lower 80s on Monday. Sunshine and mostly clear skies will continue throughout the week.

Each day we’ll warm up a degree or two until we reach the 80s on Thursday.

It’s slowly getting warmer in the morning too. We still have a few cool mornings to start the week with low 50s on the North Coast and a few 40s.

Lows will be in the 60s on the south shore.

Towards the end of the week, overnight temperatures will reach 60° in most areas.

In the tropics, we are tracking Tropical Storm Oscar over eastern Cuba. The system does not pose a threat to the US as a sharp turn to the northeast is expected.

Impacts are expected in the southeastern Bahamas this week.
