On this episode of Good Word with Goodwill, Yahoo Sports senior NBA reporter Vincent Goodwill is joined by Bomani Jones to continue the conversation they had last week about the NBA.

The boys start with the champion Boston Celtics. The New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers are making big changes to their rosters in an attempt to overtake Boston. Which is the bigger threat to win the Eastern Conference this year?

Who is the best player in the Eastern Conference? Are we sure it’s not Jayson Tatum? And if not, then why isn’t it Jayson Tatum after establishing himself as the best player on the best team in the league? Whether or not the Celtics can repeat could ultimately determine how we feel about Tatum for the rest of his career.

As they move to the Western Conference, are the Los Angeles Lakers good enough to make the playoffs? They have talent, but perhaps not enough to compete in one of the premier conferences in NBA history. And the fact that Bronny James should theoretically play real minutes during his rookie season shows that their priorities may not be in the right order.

Before we finally let Bomani go, Vinnie wondered how Adam Silver’s push for greater parity in the NBA would resonate with someone who has watched the NBA closely for decades. Since we have him, we also asked Bo to give us his MVP, NBA Champion and Finals matchup predictions for the upcoming season.
