Victim identified after fatal shooting near Arlandria on Saturday evening

Alexandria police say the shooting of a 23-year-old resident Saturday night (Oct. 19) is a homicide and have released the identity of the victim.

Carl Harris was found in the parking lot of a residence in the 800 block of Manor Road just before 8 p.m. He was placed in an SUV and driven to Inova Alexandria Hospital, but was dead on arrival, according to police reports.

Witnesses told police that four men wearing ski masks fled the scene, according to the release. The first suspect was said to be wearing a black jacket, black skinny jeans, a black ski mask and black Nike Air Jordans; The second suspect is said to have only been wearing a ski mask, the third suspect is said to have been wearing a navy blue hoodie; and the fourth suspect was a thin, tall man wearing a gray sweater and black skinny jeans.

“Detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident and searching the area,” APD said in a news release.
